Heavy Eyeliner & Mascara but felt a little anxious when encountered loutish elements

Had a really super makeover yesterday in a Department store..love it..brillant...but felt slightly anxious later when well I encountered a few of the rougher elements in Limerick...a few threatening stares and an elbow from one...how does one cope with such?
