Greetings:

I just want to impart to you fine folks my opinions concerning the bills before Congress, HR 1592 and HR 2015, both of which prohibit discrimination in the work place and enforce “hate crimes” protection for people regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. First of all let me clarify that I am not a member of any “liberal” organization, as you folks would put it.

I am however a member of the small group of people that you are demonizing in your correspondences and your web site. Why do I bother reading such stuff you ask? Because I was taught to always keep an Eye on any adversary. Note that I do not call you my enemy; I don’t believe you are and as such will refrain from using that word. However, as a concerned citizen who does vote independently of parties I am concerned as to why a organization that fervently believes in the Triune God and Jesus Christ would resort to such untruths and lies concerning a piece of legislation that is long overdue and much needed.

I was brought up as a Lutheran and educated in their schools for 7 years. They taught us to respect diversity and the people who are different than us. I however have chosen a different path in life and am no longer a part of that organization although I do not sincerely consider them my enemy. I find it disheartening that any “man of God” would stop as low as to make up such hogwash about something that will benefit more people than he knows. That hogwash is the stuff you fine folks put out about these two bills. There is NOTHING in there saying anything that you are putting out. I find it interesting that you would post a link to the bill itself but know that there are not that many people that would bother to read it. If they did, they would notice something, several some things.

There is NOTHING in there sating anything about “quotas”; as a matter of fact there is a clause in there that says no such thing will be allowed in the first place. (Sec 4 par. f) There is also your fear of religious organizations being forced to comply. Section 6 clearly states otherwise. It is not Christian-like to LIE about anything or to lead people astray. Most of the people you demonize in your web site tirade are usually not found out in everyday public life anyway, that is if you don’t hang around burlesque shows in Las Vegas where people do that for a living.

Hetro-sexual cross dressers usually do not dress all the time and Gay male drag queens, do that for show in adult only venues. If you don’t want to see them, don’t go to any gay pride parades, just stay at home. She-male is a term that I personally consider highly derogatory as it is a male who has NO intention of ever having a sex change and rarely uses hormones. These folks are in the PORN business. I am not, and I highly resent being associated with anything other than the people I live and work with.

As a matter of information, I am a 47 year old woman who is going through transition. Note that I said WOMAN. I don’t consider myself anything less than that and the people that I interact with on a daily basis don’t either, and they are as straight as they come. I am not gender confused or anything like that. I personally find that term about as offensive as “she-male” and have a low tolerance for it or any kind of bigotry towards anyone. I work for a class 1 railroad and have been there longer than most people I work with. My employer has no problem with me becoming a woman and neither do my co-workers.

When I go out in public the only thing they see is a middle aged woman with her friends. I have the love and support of my family, mother and father and siblings, except one, who thinks like you do. I don’t hate him for it but I will not let myself be deterred because of it, it’s his loss not mine. I already have job protection under The Railway Labor Act but my other sisters and brothers do not. Discrimination sucks if you have ever been on the receiving end of it.

In closing I can only and sincerely hope that you and others who think as narrow as you do come to some sense that you are wrong and continue to find ways to HELP all people, no matter what they look like or what they do. Jesus Christ didn’t have a problem with being around the very souls that most modern so-called Christians wouldn’t be caught next to at all. That is recorded in the New Testament and you know it is.

Please stop what you are doing and do the Lord’s work, not your own.

Your’s truly
