Boost Mobile Ad that Degrades Trans women and Calls them "Wrong"
This weekend I went to the movies and before the film started this Boost Mobile ad was shown. Danica Patrick's pit crew is composed of male-bodied people dressed in women's clothing and wearing high-heeled shoes. The movie audience laughed uproariously--what could be funnier than men dressed as women? This transphobic, misogynistic and offensive ad should be stopped. When will society stop making trans women the butt of cruel jokes? I encourage you to write to GLAAD to encourage them to do something about this hateful ad, where Danica Patrick calls being transgender "wrong." Apparently, it is just fine for Danica Patrick to enter the male-dominated field of competitive car racing, provided she maintains her hetero-femininity and degrades gender-variant people to secure and maintain her place in the patriarchal order.

Here is the ad itself:
Boost Mobile had the audacity to make a riveting "behind the scenes" video about the making of the video, where they make additional offensive statements. "Brainchilds of my insane creative team. I can channel that insanity." Danica won a "bet" (i.e. men cross-dressing is a form of sadistic abuse). The ads will "get people laughing." Some of the actors enjoyed it too much (those who enjoy cross-dressing are perverted and sick.) This ads are "funny, edging and pushing the limits" campaigns, says Danica, who loves taking part in them.
