It's coming up to that time. The big change. Where I strip away half of the embarrassment of presenting people with my driver's license or debit card.
Except I have NO IDEA how to go about it.
I need a friendly point in the right direction for my legal name change. Who do I contact first? If I'm a resident in one state but was born in another, where do I go? Do I make a point to specify in court that since I am in a good amount of debt right now, I have contacted the companies I owe money to and notified them that my name will be changing? On any form, what's the best thing to put for a Reason?
I've been on hormone therapy for a year and a half. I held off on the name change until now for personal reasons, so please don't ask. I'm moving in one month from Rhode Island to California, and I need to get this done before then; I want to start on a fresh, clean slate in my new life out on the west coast.
Thanks in advance, guys.
