The counselor I went to yesterday was very helpful and, while she wasn't certified to diagnose me with GID, found a couple of professors with private practices that could. I'm in the process right now of trying to make an appointment with one who's willing to do it for free/sliding-scale, but something the counselor said over the phone threw me off. She said that this was a Christian support center as well, and I'm not sure if she was just letting me know that religion might come up in discussion, or if she'd really taken note of my Star of Ishtar when I went in to see her. If it can move things along, I can pretend to be completely Christian all day and never once mention my beliefs involving the Ishtaritu, but I wonder...should I be concerned that they're going to try that whole "guilting me into thinking I'm wrong"?
*UPDATE*
I called the Christian Support Center where they kindly informed me that "God loves you, but there's nothing we can do to help you in good conscience unless you'd like to put a stop to that behavior." So much for that. >< They did actually refer me to someone who COULD see me, but he is, sadly, pretty expensive and I'm not sure he'd be able to give me a little ease on the payments.
