TV trannies?

sarianna: so the simpsons just ended and malcolm in the middle is on
sarianna: and he's being forced to sell chocolate bars door-to-door
sarianna: "if some crazy couple kidnaps me and decides to raise me as a girl it's your fault"
izzycat: somehow i don't think malcolm is trans

so are there any trans characters on TV?
I'm not counting one-time appearances of the sort that seem disturbingly common on shows like Law and Order and CSI. I mean regularly occuring characters.
If not, there should be. If I ever write a TV show (which I won't) I will keep this in mind.
