"Beginner" crossdresser/TV

I'm a beginner of sorts. I am straight/TV. I have been crossdressing in private, with makeup and a stash of clothes, for my own enjoyment since I was a young teenager. I want to make a go of crossdressing properly now. embrace that side of my personality
Can anyone recommend a set of safe resources on how to 'do' crossdressing in a proper fashion? Like, tips of what to do in order to avoid going wrong. Makeup, covering dark facial hair particularly, it is visible when I am clean shaven, is an issue. I would also like advice on constructing a female alter ego.
