I was also informed that because my T level was already on the low side of average that they wouldn't be considering a T-blocker until they see how the increase has affected me at my next appointment. They told me this because I asked.

Anyway, quickly became apparent that the increase screwed around with my already fragile hold on my emotional state when I took them in the morning, so I started taking them in the evening.

This leads me to ask, is there a good time or bad time of day to take your hormones?

I was told that I could take them spread out over the day, 2mg in the morning and 2mg in the evening but I'm no good at consistency and I know I'll either OD or forget. I was told there was no risks takng the 4mg all at once so that is what I have been doing.

And this leads me on to what I believe may be a result of the increase. I sure hope so because I can't relate it to anything else.

The past week has been strange. I have all the symptons of a depressed like state yet I feel no depression. I do not want leave my flat, nor my bed for that matter. I don't think I have had a proper meal in days and certainly not a consistent meal structure any way. Normally, I see eating as an inconvience of my time. A necessity of survival and a continuation of living. But lately even that instinct of having to eat to survive has dwindled. I feel no hunger neither. (I may have blogged about that on my personal page at some point)
Also things feel shifted slightly, out of phase with reality. Things seem sharper, brighter and a little unreal. Things feel intangible to the touch sometimes. Sounds sound louder, I have had to remove batteries from the clocks in all the rooms because the ticking was driving me mad. Even my heart and my breathing feel loud! I know I have read two books too, because they sit at the side of my bed but I don't remember doing so.

I feel like I should be worried by it all but to be honest, I feel care free. I feel weightless and liberated from mortal boundries. And that too should concern me.

I really don't know what to make of it all.

comments

I started HRT roughly 1 year, 6 months ago. A whole list of effects are brought up, hair, skin, mood, breasts, sexual desire, ect. and other subjective effects. As time goes on and we practice more medical procedures I'm finding effect that are extremely curious.

Today during tests for tidal volume in the lungs (lung capacity) I found that rather than holding near or in the male range limits as you might expect, it's solidly within female, after repeated tests, by multiple students. In addition my teacher (18 year medical assistant) commented that my sternum is small (female sized). In addition a CT scan done while in the military 3 years ago found my pituitary gland was abnormal size for a male, and was female sized, as well as an overall "female dimension," as the tech put it. The more I get into my physical traits, genetic as well hormonal," my curiosity spikes. I would hope to get more detailed testing done specifically geared toward transgendered study.

Until now I've only read sparse accounts of physical and hormonal changes by mtf transgendered. I was hoping to hear of any other experiences.

comments

Recently when I get erections, I experience a stinging sort of pain in the ring/frenulum area of my penis (the ring below the head). It's not painful enough to keep me from going, though. Then also last night I felt a sort of quiet pop like a knuckle cracking and then I felt something like a small bead move underneath the skin in the little area.

What the hell? After I came, it stopped hurting. And nothing looked abnormal. I'm seeing my doctor in about two weeks so I will discuss it with him then but does anyone have any idea what this is?

Thanks if you can help!

comments

However, I've noticed my sleeping patterns have gone all wonky since starting. At first I had for the first couple of weeks, and now I can never get to sleep or so it seems and when I do it's for like 2-4 hours then it's off and on. Now pre-hrt it took me a little bit to get to sleep, in fact my mom hardly sleeps at all and has always been that way. Now I take injections(Depoestradiol) once a week and I take spiro. I time the spiro so when I wake up at I take it and I take it an hour before I go to bed.

Is this normal?

Totally xposted

comments

Posted by: demi-dysphoria.livejournal.com

Oooohmagawd, damn, oh.... DAMN.

Okay, I have a question for anyone who has been on a feminizing regimen of hormones, or any women who have had them prescribed for any reason (or any trans-guys who had then prescribed when "living as women," which is unlikely, because they are usually only prescribed for post-menopausal women.)

Has anyone had or heard of the experience of having extremely graphic disturbing dreams induced by Progesterone use? Because... DAMN. I just woke up out of a really nasty scary one. The dreams have been building in intensity over this week, and I'm worried they'll get worse.

The other element is Marijauna. I use it in my spiritual/ritual practice (in a way that has not really influenced my function and cognition during the day before hand, as I only use it at night before I go to bed.) I think that the combination of Estrogen, Anti-Androgens, Progesterone, THC, stress and my apartments mold problem (we're moving out soon) may all be contributing to a sub-halucinogenic experience, most prominent during and after sleep. Anyone else have weird experiences with the Hormone/THC combo? Guys, tell me about T and THC, if its relevant, because I date a trans-guy who does this with me, and I want to be ready to advise him is something weird like this happens to him.

(For the dream, and a quick bit of info about how it relates to my spiritual practice, see my journal. Otherwise, this is more of a medical question.)

comments
