trans | Big Brothers?

Has anyone had any experience mentoring youth in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization? I'm sure they do a pretty thorough background check, and I'd need to be up front about my trans stuff. Has anyone tried to apply and been declined? Suspect that it was because of this? Were flat out told it was? Better yet, any experience where it's been a non-issue? Input is appreciated, thanks!
