Tuesday Nov 1st, 2005
Planning Meeting for Boston's Transgender Day of Remembrance

7:30p-9p at JRI, 25 West Street office, 4th floor. (near downtown
crossing, off Washington St.)
(Do come after the Panel Discussion: Legal Protections for Gender-Variant People:
Challenging Discrimination, we are down the street from this event)

Planning meeting is open to all community members. This will be the
7th annual Transgender Day of Remembrance, come help plan the event
for Boston's Transgender and Allied communities.

The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those
who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. The event
is held in November to honor Rita Hester, whose murder in 1998 kicked
off the "Remembering Our Dead" web project and a San Francisco
candlelight vigil in 1999. Since then, the event has grown to
encompass memorials in dozens of cities across the world. This year's
Transgender Day of Remembrance is Sunday, November 20th.
