So this is my first time posting.

I'll start off by introducing myself to you. My name is Lee, its my given name, and I've been fortunate enough to have ended up with a gender neutral name. I'm 19 years old, and I'm a pre-HRT/pre-op MTF transgender person. I plan on beginning the process of starting my hormones pretty soon, but before I do I feel I must inform the one person who doesn't know already, and the one person whose the most important in my life and probably should know... my mother.

A couple of months ago I moved away from all of my family and friends in Calgary, Alberta to Halifax, Nova Scotia with my loving and supportive boyfriend. I wanted to tell my mother before then, but I just kind of chickened out. Which is pretty funny to me because she's always been pretty supportive of me. I know she was mildly horrified at the beginning of me being gay, but still supportive and still loving, and said her only stipulation was that if she got grandchildren to spoil, she didn't care.

There are a few things conflicting whether I think she'll be supportive or not, though. My boyfriend says that its pretty easy to see what I really am in me, and that my mother should have seen it by now too. I'm girly, but not in the flaming gay sense. And also my father used to read my MSN conversations all the time with some program of his, since I was 13 ((When I first discovered I wished to become a woman)) until I moved out at 17. So I'm thinking, with the numerous times it was mentioned to friends, that my parents might have the idea already.

But even still, I have no idea how to go about this. I don't know if my mother's son wanting to be her daughter might be where the line is drawn.

Any advice as to how to approach this would be greatly appreciated.
