Compression vests

I need a little advice. I bought a compression vest. (Yay!) I was wondering if anyone else had tips on how to not have it cut into your hips and/or how to not have it roll up on you, if for example you are sitting down without jeans on. Kind of personal, I know, but I have no one else to ask that I know. And by chance if you don't think I haven't asked  enough by now, does anyone know how and how often to wash it? Thanks for all of your guys help.
