I am a coordinator for one of the queer clubs on my college campus and I have a question about police sensitivity. The Tranny Roadshow is coming to our school in a few weeks and risk assessment is making us hire security for the show. They will arrive an hour before the show begins so that we'll have time to do sensitivity training. I am responsible for coming up with a list of things that we'd like to address with them. I'm psyched about being able to have my voice heard, but I don't feel right developing a training without having some community input. What things would you tell a security guard at a trans specific event in order to best ensure the safety of all participants emotional and otherwise?
