Hi there, me again. I hope you don't mind. Wrote my letter of complaint. Would be very grateful if you could proof read it, please

To Whom It May Concern,

I writing in regard to my last appointment at the clinic with Dr Barrett on the 29^th March 2011 and I wish to lodge a formal complaint.

I felt the way Dr Barrett conducted himself during my session was offensive and insulting. I left that appointment depressed and feeling like I had been bullied. It was the sort of treatment I would have expected from an untrained and uneducated public, not a qualified medical professional. Whilst I expect advice and criticism, I do not expect it to be handed out in such brusque manner.

He seems to take issue with the fact that I am trying to go through this transition whilst also trying to respect my family. I do not hide who I am from my parents but I also do not wish to shove the issue down their throats. His suggestion that my Nan’s funeral would be a good place to come out to the rest of the family was nothing short of callous, in my opinion.

His take on the world of modern fashions seems a little outdated too. His distaste at me choosing to wear jeans on a day that was both cold and wet to start was quite apparent.

Also, for some reason, he goes off on random tangents that seem to have nothing to do with my transition. He started off my appointment with a ten minute political rant about the Tory government undermining the unemployed. This he wrapped as concern and advice. This advice was finished with the statement that I have to sell myself! I do not visit my local jobcentre for medical advice, so why should I get employment advice from a doctor?

In summary I feel that I have made very little progress under Dr Barrett other then having my confidence undermined. I shall refuse future appointments with him and request my case be handed to another doctor.
