Official Paperwork
Sep. 20th, 2013 08:08 pmI work at a nifty nonprofit that is pretty okay with me transitioning on the job. And that's awesome. And I've been selected to be one of the people to go on a business trip and handle training with the government next which, which is also awesome.
What's not awesome is that my name change paperwork hasn't been complete.
My office filled out everything (and I mean everything, from my government registration papers to my train ticket) in my preferred name. While I appreciate the part where they're so accepting, I am very worried that this is going to screw me over on the business trip. My preferred name and legal name don't look anything alike.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is Amtrak going to not let me board at Absurd Hour in the Morning on Monday? Is there anything I can do to cover my ass when I don't have any paperwork at all in my preferred name?
If it helps at all: I'm FtM, on testosterone, pre-surgery, passing about half the time.
