Name on Credit Report

transI was wondering if and how you could change your name on your credit report? I just got a thing from a collection agency....(which by the way..I don't know where it came from it is from 99) it had my old name on it...I almost threw it away. Is there a way one can change the name on there..so I don't think it's junk mail. Well it is..but still. :)
