On Sunday, June 13, 2004 from 12-4 pm, TransGender Michigan will be celebrating transgender identity and accomplishments at their annual Pride Picnic. This event is a potluck with hot dogs and drinks provided, is free of charge and will be held at Patriarch Park at the corner of Alton and Saginaw in East Lansing, Michigan.
This year, TransGender Michigan has received many generous sponsors of the Pride Picnic. Our Title Sponsors include Electrolysis by Mari at Total Image Salon, Curve Magazine, Human Rights Campaign, University of Michigan’s Comprehensive Gender Services Program, and University of Michigan Flint’s LGBT Center. Partner Sponsors include Triangle Foundation and Rosemary A. Jozwiak, LPC, CSW. Affirmations Gay and Lesbian Center, Human Rights Campaign Michigan Steering Committee, ACLU of Michigan, and People of Diversity are Ally Sponsors, and PFLAG of Genesee County and Good Beans Café are Friends of the event.
Founded in 1997 by Susan Crocker, EA, and Rachel Crandall, ACSW, TransGender Michigan is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of transgender individuals in Michigan. Its goal is "To strive for social justice and equality for transgender individuals and significant others, family, friends, and allies (SOFFAs) through education, support and advocacy." Their services would not be possible without the generous support of people like you.
