I know this might be a bit of a sensitive question, but...

For those of you who have gone through the process, are currently going through the process, or are getting ready to and have told your family about your plans, how did you go about telling your family? Did you plan what you were going to say, or did you simply wait for the right moment? How long did you wait to tell them? How did you deal with your own nervousness?

I apologise for all the questions.. It's just that a friend of mine seems to think the sooner I tell my family, the better, but I'm wary of doing so seeing as it's another month before I even hit my eighteenth birthday. Plus my family's a bit closedminded, and I'm scared of how they'll take it. At this point in time, if they chose to throw me out, I don't think I could survive on my own.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry if my questions offended anyone in any way; I'm just trying to decide when is best.
