A little more of the story: the TX Board of Dermatologists wants some of the money that goes into LHR, and got the TX Board of NPs in on it by saying that an NP or PA could work in a laser clinic instead of going for a more severe law saying that you could only recieve laser treatments in a dermatologist's office. Currently, only a handful of studios employ NPs, so this will probably cause a price increase in Texas, although it's going to vary from studio to studio how much of that price increase is passed on to the consumer.
