Does anyone have experience getting GEHA (gov't employee health insurance) to cover a hysto?
My dad was foreign service, and when I turned 21 and was no longer covered under his health insurance as a dependant I was still in college and my mother bought me an extended plan. It's not quite as good as the family policy, but still really good and it's good for two more years. Unfortunately I don't know the full details about my particular policy because it's through my parents and they're weirdly reticent to let me take over the management of stuff like that. My father does all the paperwork, and just keeps saying it's easier if he does it all. ::shrug:: Bit of a control freak, but meh. It doesn't matter if they know about the hysto, they won't like it but they'll deal.
I'm on T, and I have PCOS. Also a strong family history of breast cancer (don't know if that makes a difference), and my grandmother had to have a hysto due to cancer but was 80 at the time so that probably doesn't count. Could I possibly have grounds to get the hysto deemed medically necessary?
