4 years out of the Navy

That was the magic number for me, my EOAS. That's military parlance for April 2, 2002 and "End Of Active Service". If you read my earlier post here about my difficulty serving in the Navy for 8 years, you would remember how I survived by counting down the days till I got out. April 2nd became the light at the end of the tunnel. A goal that I could hope for that the hell that I was living in would soon be over. The 9/11 attacks happened 7 months before April 2, 2002, and for a while I was stop-lossed, meaning I would have been forced to continue serving until they deemed it ok to let me go. Luckily I was able to leave, and today it's been 4 years since I've been out.
