A cross post. Why not.
Apr. 5th, 2006 01:15 pmIt's very odd, this attitude that people have.
I made a new friend online recently. Her name is Amanda and I met her on a fetish forum. You don't need to know which one.
Roughly around the same time I got back in touch with a girl I used to know from a similar place.
The one I knew before clearly only knew me as a man so I had to explain things.
Mid conversation she just wigged out and started telling me I was too masculine and that I'd never look even slightly female and how terrible I was.
So yeah, she got blocked.
Meanwhile, I nervously sent a couple of photos to Amanda, who never knew me in the before times (you know, the long long ago) and whom I decided didn't need to know about the old me.
Amanda told me she thought I was gorgeous and even showed the photos to a friend at her side, who agreed.
There are two unusual things about this...
The first is that the old friend (whose real name I never even knew) has NEVER seen a picture of me. Ever.
The second is that the second photo I sent to Amanda was this little slice of the past, a REALLY early photo. That is the first dress I ever bought. You can tell how old it is from the length of my hair at the time.
But despite the horrible photo (which I felt sure would out me for certain. I'm still puzzled as to why I sent it) she didn't doubt my explanation that I simply used to be quite a tomboy (understatement city) for one second.
From this I draw one conclusion.
