GenderTalk Radio to Air Final Broadcast

This Saturday, September 30, GenderTalk will broadcast its final
program.

Airing each week since 1995 from MIT's WMBR in Cambridge, GenderTalk
is the world's leading transgender radio program, broadcasting live
each week to the Greater Boston area. Streaming online at
www.gendertalk.com since 1997, it has enjoyed a growing audience
since its inception, with thousands of loyal and appreciative
listeners around the world (see gendertalk.com/radio/kudos.shtml).
Among other honors, GenderTalk received an award from GLAAD in 2000
for "Outstanding LGBT Radio".

All programs since 1997 are archived online for easy listening
anytime. Guests have ranged from Kate Bornstein to Noam Chomsky to
queer activists in Nepal and Kyrgyzstan to trans politicians in New
Zealand, to the families of murdered trans persons and the parents of
transgender children, to trans persons struggling for justice and
triumphing in transition. Topics span a broad range of gender-
related issues, with a special emphasis always on transgender-related
topics, but also discussing GLBT, race and women's issues, a range of
progressive politics, as well as poetry, performance art, and much more.

Hosts Nancy Nangeroni and Gordene MacKenzie extend an invitation to
listeners to join them for their final broadcast on Saturday evening
at 8PM at WMBR (wmbr.org) on the MIT campus: "Come down to the
station and join us for our final program!"
