Apr. 27th, 2007 11:03 pmhello, my name is jessica, and im new here. i am looking forward to meeting all of you!
i just wanted to give my little opinion on the 20/20 special...
i think that barbara walters did a pretty good job of embracing each child for who they are and tried her best to avoid negativity in front of them. my problem was more with the parents.... which is hard, because who am i to judge, when i do not have a trans child? they are experiencing it from a different place then a trans person or a person who is more educated about the subject. however, i dont see why they need to tell anyone their childs BIOLOGICAL gender. who the fuck cares? for the 2nd story, why don't they change her school? that precious little girl is going to do somthing drastic if they dont get her into a safer environment. if the children didnt know what was between her legs, then they wouldnt tease her. she is a girl, so let her live as a girl. give her a new beginning. also for little jazz, why must they tell her friends that she was born with a penis?
i guess, all in all, they are trying their best. i just cant wait until our society is a little more educated.
thanks for reading.
