So I've been transitioning for a little bit over a year and have been making progress on a lot of fronts. One of the things that was coming up soon was telling my parents about being trans. My situation is a bit complicated because I have two step-parents and two biological parents, plus a 9 year old sister. So two of my parents I was planning on telling sooner than the other. And today my step-mother just figured it out and she is pretty good with it. But now that she knows I'm going to have to start telling the others sooner than I was planning. I don't think my father is going to be issue, but my other two parents are going to be difficult and I have been talking to my therapist about it for a while. When I first started going, she suggested that I wait about 1 or 2 years. Well things aren't going to happen that way and I know they aren't going to take it well, because of some other things we have been dealing with.

What I am wondering is what advice and experiences any of you might have had or are now having with difficult situations with the family?

Thanks

Christie
