Reverse conformity within Transgender?

Have encountered a number of Transsexuals who make extreme efforts to conform to what society expects their 'adopted' gender role to be. The thought entered my mind.:

are 'Transgenderists ' necessarily socially liberal? Have others had similar encounters?

  Personaly while I consider myself considerably more 'feminine'..I won't be going to uncomfortable means to conform to what society deems a female should be.
