finding healthcare internationally?

I was speaking with a friend who is ftm and he was talking about the difficulty getting health coverage post transition. We got into a discussion of how much better healthcare is in other countries (canada, UK and Europe specifically). He said he'd be interested in finding out if coverage is any easier in these countries. I've been looking online for articles and resources for him online but have had little luck. For anyone who has transitioned outside the US or has recieved healthcare outside the US, can you point me in the direction of any resources to pass along to my friend? Hope this is the appropriate forum to ask. Thanks!
