Ok, so as the title says, I went to talk to my Grandma, Aunt and Sister about my being absent from the family for a long time now (3 years).

Sister (Steffie) was not there, Grandma and Aunt (Dianne) were there.

Walking in, I have a seat at the dinner table where all conversation in the family takes place.

I say, "It is probably apparent from the way I look what has been going on with me"

Looking at me gravely my Grandma says "You're gay." (I almost laughed. Would have if the situation wasn't so damn scary"

So I said, "No, I am Transgender." To which Dianne said "So you are a woman now"

I could have kissed her for knowing what Trangender means.

So, as you can see, it was promising. We talked at length for quite some time about my transition, what it means to be TG, and my life in general.

What it came down to was summarized by my Grandma, "What is important to me is that you are healthy and happy."

Umm yeah I am still in shock and happy that I still have some of my family left. Now, if I could only gauge exactly why Dianne was almost crying when she left after a while, and how my sister will react when she learns that her older brother is now her older sister.
