*clears throat* hello all
Jul. 26th, 2002 11:12 pmsorry my first post is a cross-post, but I've got a question that I figured someone somewhere would know the answer to and I didn't want to leave any stone unturned.
first, introductions.
um, I'm 18, genderqueer and living in semi-rural midcoast Maine, where I've lived my whole life. It's a good existance, but you've got to figure a lot out for yourself because there aren't very many people around to offer guidance. As of about 3 days ago I've been going by the name Mea, a derivative of my childhood nickname which can still be seen as part of my username. I've been experimenting with binding for about a year now but recently I've been incorporating it into my everyday existance. I like it that way. I'll pass by a reflective surface and actually see ME. It's a very good feeling. But, what's not such a good feeling is the result of this daily binding. I'm using the "tummy trim" type deal from Wal*Mart, made out of Neoprene. It does a great job appearance-wise and feels really comfortable while it's on, but my skin doesn't react well to the rubber. I'm also cursed with a fairly large chest. So in my limited knowledge I've heard that the underworks double compression shirt has worked well for other guys. And I was thinking that would eliminate the skin irritation of the neoprene, and it would also help with my large chested problem, because I've heard it works for guys with larger chests. So I'm all set to order one, because binding daily is something I've decided is the most comfortable thing for me in that it shows my inner image of myself a lot better, but I don't know about the sizing. Because I've checked out the website and ofcourse all the sizes are in mens sizes, so that doesn't really help much. So...I was wondering if any of you use the underworks binder, and if so, what would you reccomend for a size? I'm roughly 5'3" and 140lbs. as much compression as possible without restricting breathing would be much desirable.
So, that was a long way to the well, but any feedback at all would be really awesome. I'm sort of stuck here and I'm sort of dreading getting any more irritation from the neoprene. I started out by wearing an A-frame underneath it, and now I've moved up to a full undershirt, but it still makes me itch a lot. And the less layers the better, especially because it's still full-force summer. So...thanks everyone. I really appreciate it.
