update!/Equity Maine
Apr. 28th, 2009 07:38 amGreetings,
This afternoon a majority of the Judiciary Committee voted to pass the marriage bill without amendment. The bill now goes to the Senate, which is expected to vote in the next few days.
As the bill moves to the Senate, there is a risk that the bill will be amended to include a referendum sending this issue to the voters.
Please contact your Senator immediately. Urge them to vote YES on LD 1020 and NO to a referendum.
Marriage equality in Maine could be won or lost within the next 24 hours. We need your help to win. Please send an email to your Senator today.
We cannot win without you.
