My local library.
Jun. 19th, 2009 07:01 pmToday I had cause to look at the website for my county's website. They actually had a link to a GLBT section with a number of books hi-lighted, generally split into fiction and non-fiction. I don't read much fiction but I do read non-fiction. I clicked on the list and checked out what they listed as GLBT non-fiction.
Surprise surprise - the T was invisible. Not a single book dedicated to the T part.
BUT you can request that they buy books. This is their form:
Title:
Publisher:
Publication date:
ISBN/manufacturers number
Where did you find out about it?
Subject suggestion:
Why would this be a good addition to our stock:
Any suggestions? Having noticed this I would like to suggest at least one book so I can point out their lack of notice of the T in GLBT. I do use my local library a lot so this isn't just some political exercise for me.
