So because I'm absent minded I have some delayed info for everyone.

Here, in Spokane there is going to be a youth conference next month for LGBTQ youth ages 14-21 that is completely free. Under the cut is the blurb directly from Odyssey Youth Center's page and the link to register. If you have any questions that can't be answered by the OYC page feel free to go head and ask me.

Odyssey Youth Center will be hosting Spokane’s first LGBTQA Youth Conference. The conference is scheduled for July 24-26, 2009 and will be held at ITRON Inc. in the Spokane Valley.

When Odyssey youth were put in charge of selecting a name for the conference they selected "Conference for Hope", because for them that’s exactly what it represents.

Participation is expected from youth and adults in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, California, Alaska and Canada. In addition to a series of workshops for youth, there will be workshops for educators, leaders, community members, service providers, and parents.

We are excited about the possibility that over 500 LGBTQ individuals and straight allies will join us in Spokane to network, learn and support each other. It is truly going to be an amazing event.

The link for registration is http://www.odysseyyouth.org/.

On to the real reason I came to post for....

So as most people do/are doing I am scrambling around trying to figure out how to fund my transition. Well last Friday I dug through the outrageous thoughts and options in my head and came up with this.....

The very first Transgender Take Over of the TransAmerican Trail. I know the name needs some work but, that can come later. Basically it's a bunch of trans people biking across the US. The way you would raise money is getting people to sponsor you by the mile. I know it's crazy, but it was an idea. I am going to do it whether or not I can get a group together or not, just cuz I have always wanted to and I have people who have committed to sponsoring me. I just thought I would share the idea. It could be a yearly thing and who knows what will happen. I'm thinking of starting next year in May and going until I'm done. The route starts in Astoria, OR and ends in somewhere in VA. I figure that people don't want to go the entire distance, they could join in at any point. I found the route on the Adventure Cyclists Association website. I'd be willing to be a big head planner if people were interested in actually doing it. It would be nice to have another depending on how many people are actually interested. I guess I just want to know what everyone thinks of this idea and if anyone would be interested.
