Like 48 million other Americans, I have no medical insurance. Like 9.4% of Americans, I am unemployed. I lost both my job and my medical insurance about a month and a half ago... I was laid off. I had been receiving medical care from Kaiser Permanente, and I am pretty sure the next time I get to see any kind of doctor it won't be with them. I am afriad that upon making to switch (probably to MediCare or MediCal) I will have to completely restart my transition from the beginning, starting with therapy, being evaluated, diagnosed, then screened for eligibilty and readiness, walking through the Real Life Test again... I'm worried that my medical records will not carry through, or somehow won't any longer be considered valid, and that I will have to walk into that doctor's office as if I had just come out for the first time.

So I have a few questions...

Has anyone switched providers during a crucial time in their transition? I'm at 6 months on testosterone. Has anyone stopped testosterone for a period of time, and got back on it? What happened? What kind of progress did you lose and how long did it take for things to get back to normal? Here's one of the biggest thoughts on my mind: I know some guys buy T, "illegally" off the internet. I am actually starting to consider this, because really the only thing stopping me from getting T right now is having a prescription because I can't afford to see a doctor...

I'm mostly wondering how to handle this situation, and if it has happened to anyone else...
