im legally a male. my gender marker is male on my license, social security card, and im listed as a male under my health insurance, which is state provided (MN Care). to my knowledge, from what i've heard, MN Care is not very tranny friendly. my endo has been billing everything he has done for me in a way that would make it look as if i just had a hormone problem and nothing trans related. i had a consult with Dr. Buckley and asked her if she would be able to do my chest surgery and list it as gynocomastia since im not out to my health insurance. she said she would have no problems doing this, but the place she performs surgery at would not allow it and she could potentially lose her license so she would have to list it as a bilateral or whatever she decides i need done. im not sure that my insurance covers this, but i would appeal it either way with a huge fight if they didn't. my question is, should i call my insurance and ask and have them put up a fuss or should i just go through buckely and have her submit it to insurance the way she wants and see if a. insurance catches  on and thinks anything of it or b. even cares? im 6 months on T now and im starting to get really dysphoric about my upper body and i feel its time that i have this done. my brother just had gynocomastia surgery, as a matter of fact hes laying in the hospital right now, and we have the same insurance. so any thoughts on what i should do?
