Hi there. Slowly being dragged out of my shell in this community.

I just moved across the country. From Rhode Island to California, to be exact. Very interesting trip. Saw Niagara Falls for the first time. Don't remember Illinois at all. Went crazy over Nebraska's neverending corn fields. Ooh'd and ahh'd over the Rocky Mountains and Utah in general. Made it to LA LA Land in one piece in a seven year old trembly car. Fancy that.

SO, seeing as I'm starting a new life here and have ZERO friends to hang out with - setting aside, of course, the lovely fiancee for whom I moved here to begin with (and follows this community. hi, honey.) and my equally crazy lesbian room mate - I'd like to shake off the rust and get back into going out every once in awhile.


I am searching for trans-friendly bars or clubs anywhere in the Los Angeles area. Anybody from Cali have any suggestions to pitch in? I usually don't mind 'straight' clubs (despite the obnoxious music that seems to showcase a majority of them) but I'd prefer a place to feel legitimately comfortable in.

I wouldn't sneeze at meeting some of my transgendered brothers and sisters in the area, either. At the risk of sounding kinda pathetic, I'd like to start making some friends around here.
