Hello everyone! I've never posted here before, but I've been reading for a few months. My name is Noel. I'm 19, FTM, and here to offer you an exciting opportunity!

This year the Scattergood Emerging Scholars Fellowship and Active Minds have given me--and therefore all of you--a unique opportunity. They have accepted my proposal for a GID-inspired art show and online gallery. The show will consist of art created by Transfolk and allies alike. The aim is not only to educate the public, but to give Transfolk and their allies an outlet for emotion.

THIS IS NOT JUST A VISUAL ART SHOW, AND YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE 'TALENTED.' Art in this case is defined as: visual art, dance, theater, photography, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and anything else you can think of!

The show will take place at Towson University (just outside of Baltimore, Maryland, USA) sometime this spring (exact date tbd). I am planning hopefully to record physical meetings that will be hosted at the university in the meantime, and post them to the blog. Don't worry! I will keep everyone updated! There will also be an online gallery, which is where you guys who don't live in the Baltimore area come in (although I do plan to have a slideshow projection at the show itself, and writing pieces may be read aloud by volunteers!).

Important note: I know very well that there are differing opinions on GID (Gender Identity Disorder), its classification, its diagnosis, etc. It would be fantastic if anyone wishes to enter art on this theme, but for the time--we are NOT arguing anything with one another. This is a time for us to stand together, so please be open-minded and civil.

I hope that wasn't too confusing. Ask me anything you like, and I shall respond as best I can! My spring semester starts this coming Monday, January 25th so I should be able to be more active with this and the planning as of then.

I'm excited, are you?
