I hate to be this person, but...
Jan. 26th, 2010 09:38 pmSorry, I hate doing this, but I'm in the middle of a very stressful personal situation that may end up advancing legally and don't really have the concentration right now to spend 4 hours on Google Scholar. I'm taking queer studies this semester, and of course we have a final paper, the proposal for which is due in a week. My ideas for said paper thus far are
1. a trans/genderqueer perspective feminist identity - identifying as a feminist while actively rejecting, loathing even, your own femininity or femaleness
2. genderqueer identities, invisibility and sexualities
3. visible vs. invisible queerness and their pros/cons/impacts on society in general, queer community and the individual
4. early representations of lesbianism in art and literature and how it was acknowledged or denied
5. binaries within the community
The problem? We need to have peer reviewed sources. My favorite paper ideas are 1, 2 & 3, but I feel like there aren't going to be any papers out there. Or not many. So if anyone out there knows if there are journal articles on said topics, please tell me. Or perhaps are there going to be more articles on topic 4? Or just some general ideas of specific journals to access rather than driving myself crazy searching most of the internet. Thanks everyone.
