Hello all :) I’m fairly new to these lj communities...but as far as introductions go, my name is Julie, I live in NYC, and I go to Parsons School of Design (photo major). I’m currently working on a photography project dealing with gender and identity…and I need volunteers for the project...any gender, any stage of transition (I’ll gladly provide copies of the photos you choose). The purpose of the project is to exemplify and dismantle the binary system of gender that society sees/tries to enforce, as well as illustrate that as a way of thinking, binaries prevent other kinds of information from emerging. aaand, I need your help! If you aren’t in the area and would like to help with this project, I would like to include some text/dialogue, so would love any and all thoughts/stories on the topic...even if you’d just like to suggest some reading or other sources. If you know someone who might be interested, pass on the message!
