TRANSform Your Mind Art Show
Apr. 20th, 2010 10:43 amThis is a bit late for a post, considering the event is this week, but I'd like to invite you all anyway!

This year the Scattergood Emerging Scholars Fellowship and Active Minds have given Noel H. (me)--and therefore all of you--a unique opportunity. They have accepted Noel's proposal for a GID-inspired art show and online gallery. The show will consist of art created by Transfolk and allies alike. The aim is not only to educate the public, but to give Transfolk and their allies an outlet for emotion.
The TRANSform Your Mind Art Show is a mixed-media display by and about the transgender and trans-ally experience. Visual art, photography, sculpture, video, spoken word, poetry, and more, all served with light refreshments! Come be a part of this powerful showcase of what it means to be yourself, even when the world is against you.
Sponsored by the Scattergood Emerging Scholars Fellowship, Active Minds, and the Towson University LGBT Development Program.
The show will be held at Towson University, Towson, Maryland (just north of Baltimore), USA on Friday April 23.

I posted about this here a few months ago, looking for contributions, though I only received one reply (thanks, Rachael!). Contributions are now closed for the SHOW, but if you would like to submit a scan, photo, digital artwork, video, etc. for the online gallery (which should be going up in the next month), you are more than welcome to contact me. If you're in the Baltimore/Towson area, I'd also love to see you at the show!
