FTM Student loses homecoming king title

transI saw this article a bit earlier today and have been trying to spread it around. A student in Michigan mounted a one day campaign for homecoming king and won before he was called into the principal's office and informed that because he wasn't male in the school records that all of his votes were being thrown out. Well, his classmates have started a facebook page called Oak is my King and the student body has come out hard against the school for their transphobia. On one hand though even as I rage at the stupidity of his school's administration I can't help but be incredibly cheered by how awesome his fellow classmates are being. I wish my graduating class had been half as awesome. Gives me hope for humanity even though they're not even ten years younger than me.
