FLORIDA QUIETLY CHANGES BIRTH CERTIFICATE POLICY

The Florida Office of Vital Statistics recently began notifying people whose requests for sex-change birth certificate corrections were previously denied of a new Department of Health policy. Effective immediately, the Office of Vital Statistics will amend the birth certificate on receipt of a letter from any licensed physician attesting to the fact that either sex change has been completed or that the original birth certificate was in error. A certified copy of a court order changing one's name is required, also, if the birth name is to be changed.

Hi everyone,

Here is an interview that I did with FtM counselor Patrick Califia earlier this month.
I would sure appreciate your feedback, as I tried to ask good questions, and I am
transgender, and no one ever writes the newspaper. (By the way, and this is not gossip,
he is currently not using the name "Patrick Califia-Rice."). Hence, the identification.

peace, milla

Ok, so, here is this project / fantasy that I have had in mind for a while. I want to start
an all-transgender indie cover band. We might be called "The Glennie Glendas." Please eel free to post other ideas ...

I have to explain immediately that the band members have to be open to a lot different
styles, because lord knows we know about people being narrow-minded. Indie can mean
a lot of things.

As for actual tunes we would write, here are some possible song titles:

"The End of Hetero-Gender Indie Elitism As We Know It" (This song is dedicated to people who
feel excluded by so-called "punks" and "radicals" who are so hip that they form closed "circles" and diss folks who don't use the right lingo).

"Trannies of the World, Unite!"

"Bitch Goddess"

"Boyz Rule"

"Goodbye, Kitty"

"(We Know What) People Like" (with props to The Waitresses)

"I Shot Belle and Sebastian, and I'd Do it Again" (Fruesen Gladje remix)

"Suck My Left Clitina" (with non-props to Kathleen Hanna)

Covers:

A haunting polka version of Bauhaus's "Bella Lugosi's Dead"

A rousing version of Toto's, "Hold the Line, Love isn't Always On Time" (with full piano!)

Fugazi, "Repeater" and "Long Division"

Sonic Youth, "Beauty Lies in the Eye"

Muddy Waters, "Mannish Man"

Bettie Serveert, "Palomine"

Steve Winwood, "Arc of a Diver"

Liz Phair, "Mesmerizing" and "Divorce Song"

Marc Eitzel, "It's Your Birthday" (a song about a transperson!)

The Spinanes, "Leo, Jonah, and Me"
