you probably get this a lot.
Feb. 2nd, 2004 08:37 pmhi everyone. My name is Kirsten. I'm 16. I do not consider myself transgender. I have a vagina and i guess it's because of that that i consider myself female.
anyway, so i'm part of my GSA at school and today's topic was Gender. What makes gender etc. etc.
and i left that meeting realizing that i don't question it nearly as much as i should. i mean, what makes gender? is it really just whats between the legs? if so, why does society rely so heavily on it?
another question that was posed was: if we lived in a world that was completely free of gender stereotypes would there be "queer" (both queer and gender-queer) people? would there be a need for it?
I'm just looking for some opinions of people who've thought a lot about it and maybe have some better idea than i do.
thanks!
