Call for Proposals
Mar. 5th, 2004 11:24 pmI just wanted to pass this along to everyone:
Call for Proposals:
Trans-forming Feminism COnference
Deadline: March 31, 2004
We are planning a conference entitled "Trans-Forming Feminism: Exploring Intersections Between the Transgender and Feminist Movements." THis one day conference will be held at the State University of New York at New Paltz (SUNY New Paltz) on MAY 8, 2004.
We are looking to create a conference that will really begin to explore the issues connecting and dividing the Transgender and Feminist communities. We want to address the fears, myths and misunderstanding that can keep these movements from building coalitions together. We want to hear lots of different voices for as we all know, there is no one voice that speaks for everyone.
We are looking for innovative, dynamic, refreshing and honest proposals for workshops, papers, panels and performance pieces.
Proposals should include:
1) One page description of presentation, how it relates to the conference, and the topics and activities it will include.
2) name and short description of relevant experience for each presenter.
3) Name, address, phone and email for contact person.
Proposals can be e-mailed to: transformfeminism @ riseup.net
or mailed to:
