I don't know if this sort of this is allowed, but...

There's a debate about transexuals and transexuality in general on another message board I was told about. It's over for the most part at the moment, with no clear winner. It's also pretty long and has some tangents, but it's a good read I think.

There's a fair bit of conservatives on the board however, so you'll find the same old "once a man always a man" argument on their.

Well, I just joined the community and thought I might say hello.

I'm seventeen, live in Illinois, and I'm an anime nut. And ever since I was little I've always felt I belonged in the so-called "male world". All my best friends growing up were guys, and I've always acted far more 'boyish' than my (few) female friends. I've only just recently begun to look into things; mostly because I'm finally beginning to get disgusted with the body and social role I seem to be trapped in. I'm looking into someday (when I have money and am away from my mother) making the trip across the spectrum, but as of yet I've not spoken to anyone but a few friends about it. The most important of these friends is probably a male friend of mine who's also thinking of making the transition. He's really helped me find a lot of information on the subject, and is the one who convinced me that it is indeed possible in the first place.

I can't really think of anything else that I feel needs to be said at the moment, so there you have it, I suppose. I just thought I should introduce myself.
