Gay Marriage Legal in Canada!

On Tuesday, June 28th, 2005, Canada got much better. With a vote 158-133, the Canadian government made it possible for Canada to join the ranks of Belgium and The Netherlands to become the third country in the world to permit gay marriages.

This is why Canada rules, folks.

I love you, Canada!

So much for that, I'm really disappointed.

I've read through about a third of the responses to my thread and all I can immediately say is What - the - hell?

Is this community not about sharing our experiences with being t-folk? Should we not be honest with our feelings and experiences? I chose to refer to our ilk as freakish to the social norms, and refer to TGI disorder as a disability. I feel like if a person is feeling these things, and they are directly connected to their gender identity, then how do such comments not belong in a community like this? I didn't join this place to be isolated, I joined to discuss. I am not an outsider when I say these things looking for a fight, I am a person who is living the way a t-person lives every day of my life exploring my emotions.

I'm really disappointed in what I've read here today. I felt like there would be more empathy present in the community. It seems I was wrong. Those of you who did comment in the before mentioned thread without the beligerance and sepratism, I appreciate it -- you're the folk I joined for. For everone else, let's pretend T-life is wonderful and problem free, and ask ourselves why we bother to participate in these kinds of communities.
