Just wanted to see if anybody had any advice or knew where i was coming from. I've been with my gf for 8 months now and before me, shes never been with a non-bio guy. never even thought about being with a non-bio guy. Most of our friends know we are going out and my parents know we are a couple but her parents dont know and some of her friends and co workers she just doesn't want to tell. I can understand how hard it must be for her to tell people shes with me and not some guy because she isn't gay. She would have to tell them also about me being trans and its just a really complex situation. Now im not mad that she wont tell some people but i guess it just sorta hurts my feelings because im proud that shes my gf and i like people to know shes my gf.
Ex; One of her old friends has the biggest crush on her. She told him a while ago that me and her were dating and he just kept saying how 'weird' it was and she got fed up of defending our relationship and just told him we had broken up so hed get over it. Now hes all over her since she 'doesn't have a bf' and i just told her to tell him we really are dating. But she gets all defensive saying 'i told u in the beginning of our relationship it would be hard for me to tell people blah blah blah.'
i just wanna know if i'm overreacting. and any tips on this kinda situation. I mean its not like we've only been gooin out a couple months, its almost a year and she tells me she loves me and it feels really serious so shes gonna have to do it sometime right? I just hate being a secret...
