It was a year ago yesterday that I woke up in the recovery room. Post-op. I remember saying it to myself, quietly.

We're having a big party tonight. Friends coming from all over. One wrote me a poem/blessing, in honour of the day (that'd be [livejournal.com profile] northbard, long may his flagon be full).

We're calling the occasion Muffing Day (as in, the day I got muffed).

A Muffing Day poem/blessing for you :

Spin the wheel, a bio-hex
And make concave what was convex
Transform, subvert all lines of sex
Body-fate to be, be perplexed

Tears and wrongness wash away
As real-life matches dreams and play
Rightness wrought will always stay
Blessed cunt, on muffing day

Sometimes, we fret about how hard it is to fit in, how difficult it can be, how lonely. I wanted to post this to remind you, if you're in that fretting spot, to remind you that it =can= go right. You can have dozens of friends who adore you, who are nothing but thrilled for your transition. A partner who loves me more than anything, and who's been with me nine long hard years, and one long happy one. It can happen. Don't give up hope.
