ACCLAIMED TRANSGENDER FILM COMES TO GLBT FILM FESTIVAL

(ROYAL OAK) –Reel Pride Michigan GLBT Film Festival is proud and excited to bring "Transamerica" to the Detroit area. The film has been an instant hit at GLBT film festivals across the country.

"Transamerica" explores the life of a transgender woman and how strangers help one another when no else steps up. Reel Pride Michigan GLBT Film Festival features the film on Thursday, October, 27th at 7:00 p.m. at the Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak.

"Transamerica" stars Bree (Felicity Huffman from Desperate Housewives) who is days away from her sex re-assignment surgery when she learns she has a long-lost son, Toby (Kevin Zegers), in a New York jail. Toby is searching for his biological father “Stanley” and Bree pretending to be a social worker, bails him out of jail. Bree learns Toby’s mother is dead and he’s living a life as a hustler and using drugs.

“We are bringing very high caliber films to the festival and are excited about the response we have been getting," said Sean Kosofsky, Director of Policy for Triangle Foundation. "Film is a terrific medium for bringing people together and telling stories that really impact our lives.”

Don’t miss Huffman’s astounding portrayal of a pre-operative male-to-female transsexual without transgression, or Zegers’ brilliant performance of a tough façade underneath a very confused adolescent exterior.

Transamerica is presented by Ameritax Plus, an accounting and financial planning firm located in downtown Berkley. For more information, to purchase tickets, or to see the festival guide, visit Reel Pride Michigan at Reel Pride Michigan or call 313-537-3323 x107.

I have now finaly watched my episode of the documentary series. I was quite impressed with it if I do say so myself. The only three issues I have are, I hate my voice, the haircut they gave me looks too sort and thus I look really bad at time and I wish I had proposed better, i.e. handed lisa the flowers and poped the question right then... but oh well. Oh and after walking for *hours* to get all the takes some of the times I am walking I am walking really stupidly, my feet hurt!!

Anyway, I have created a torrent for friends and family that wish to download the episode. Please feel free to get it and please seed if you can. Share the torrent with anyone you feel might find it useful but try to avoid public distribution.

Hope you like it.
