Hey all...sorry to intrude...just feeling REALLY REALLY low right now....i won't hash into it....but if you want the whys and wherefores, i've already wrote about it in my own journal.

I'm turning to you all.....for advice...a lead...a hint...a clue?

1) how do you find a therapist?
2) specifically, do you know of any t-friendly/t-helpful ones in Jacksonville, FL?
3) how did you all finance your horemones and such things?

ANY advice would put a tearful, frustrated girl's mind at ease

thank you for listening...sorry for the cross-posting

Are you a Transgender resident of Virginia?
Have you ever had problems with your health care?
Have you ever wanted to do something about it?
Here's an opportunity:

The Virginia Transgender Health Initiative Study (THIS) is a survey sponsored by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia HIV Community Planning Committee, to assist them in planning to better provide health care and social services to Transgender people living in Virginia. It's no secret that many trans people have enormous difficulties getting good health care, and THIS will help VDH design health provider trainings and better allocate prevention resources for trans Virginians. It's important that we obtain the participation of as many different trans people as possible, so that the data will be fully representative of all regions and subgroups of the transgender population of the Commonwealth.

The survey can be taken online at http://www.srl.vcu.edu/THIS/ . Your privacy will be protected and confidentiality is assured. There is a section at the end of the survey for those who wish to receive a $15 incentive for taking the survey, but you need not provide that info to participate.

THIS is an opportunity to help yourself and others improve health care delivery for trans people, so please consider participating. Virginia residents only - thanks.

Jessica Xavier
