I find that in maintaining a feminine appearance, I always seem to hit the same two rough spots:

  • Nails — Does anyone have any manicure tips to share? I usually keep my nails at a medium length, and I file them down on the sides of my fingers to make them look more pretty. That's about the extent of my savvy when it comes to nails. Does anyone else have difficulty in this area? Also feel free to post any links to good Web sites that provide advice or step-by-step instructions.

  • Eyeliner — I always have trouble applying eyeliner to my upper eyelid. I usually blink like crazy when I do it, and that makes it very difficult to make the lines neat and even. Maybe it's because I apply the eyeliner with my eyes open? In the past, I've also experimented with pulling my eyelid shut to prevent me from blinking, but the outcome still can be a little messy.

Work

Got work at 4pm....I really hate work right now because even if I can feel and present as a boy, works a place where I really can't. Even though I do wear a shirt and tie. My uniform doesn't help my figure and even though I have been mistaken by customers for a boy quite a few times, most people refrain to calling me 'love' and anyways all the staff members know me as a girl. Seemingly worse, most of them know me as a lesbien as they know me and my girlfriend (who works on lobby with me) are together.

A note to all FTMs/TGs out there, when you went to a new work place pre-T/anything else realy did you let your employer know about your gender preferences? Because I've applied somewhere else, who are all 'oooh equal oppotunities and shit' but I doubt they'd understand if I tried to tell them. I just want to feel happier in the workplace really :/

Also, who has binded or packed in work? I would love to bind in work, but I've only tried it once and it was okay for a little bit but made me feel ill after a while. (I use bandages/sports bra) I am looking to get a binder for my birthday but I am worried about hurting myself too much and I don't really know where to start.

Thanks

Sorry for posting again so soon, but I had a quick look through the memories in FTM and couldnt find anything...

I am a type 1 insulin dependant diabetic. How will this affect my transitioning? I am also very worried of any risks, and if I'd ever be able to go on T or not. If anyone has ANY resources please PLEASE share?
